The summer collecting season is upon us!

• Margo Russell and women in the hobby
CW August Special Edition to remember the 1980s
• Lincoln's log cabin made of coin rolls?
• Miss Liberty gets wings in 1916
• Portraits in metal: Liberty's many looks

All of us at Coin World hope you enjoyed the July Special Edition celebrating the numismatics of Boston and Massachusetts. In August we continue our series remembering the decades since Coin World's founding in 1960. Coming on the heels of the April issue focused on the 1960s and the June issue on the 1970s, the August issue will remember the events and personalities of – you guessed it - the 1980s!

In this month's newsletter, we finish up our four-part series featuring Coin World's second editor Margo Russell reminiscing on the role of women in the hobby, we look at a 1960 issue of Coin World, and preview the October issue of Coin World's Coin Values. We pulled up "from the archive" a terrific three-part article from senior staff writer Paul Gilkes on different concepts of Liberty on coinage that will continue through the August and September newsletters.

Happy collecting!
